A few weeks ago I had the privilege of working with model Kacie Marie. Everything was planned out to the T. Where we were headed, what she'd be wearing, how her hair and makeup would look, it was all perfect. I was so excited to work with such a fantastic model who showed so many different sides in her portfolio. AANNDD not only was she gorgeous but she could sing! and act! and was an all around awesome person.
So the day finally arrived and although we had a snag in the morning, I finally picked her up at the train and we left for Old Westbury Gardens. We had never met prior to me picking her up, and let me tell you, she was one of the sweetest people I've ever met. She was actually just like a Disney princess. Kacie was amazingly beautiful and was sure to remain that way make-up or not, her clothes were something out of a story book - she might as well have had little birdies following her around with her outfits.
We were supposed to shoot for only two hours but ended up exploring the gardens a little and shot for more than three hours. After I took her back to the train I couldn't wait to get home and delve into the images - I slid my SD card into my MacBook Pro and went through the images frame by frame in Photoshop. Not one of them needed heavy editing - I was floored. I've never had such a fantastic batch of pictures in my life.
So I immediately edited the images and began culling for publication. One a fluke, I sent over the images to Editorial magazine a day after their deadline and they loved them so much they added them in at the last minute.
