Switching it up

Typically - I photograph beautiful people and their expressions. The surroundings I put them in generally come secondary. I can shoot almost anywhere, even the tiniest of spaces works for me. (check out my behind the scenes video of a shoot taken in my stand up shower - and make sure you imagine me standing on the toilet over the camera - here.)
Yesterday, I had the privilege of photographing a model at one of my favorite places, Old Westbury Gardens in Old Westbury, NY. It is legitimately one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. The trees grow tall and flowers bloom seemingly all year round. Even when its cold as all get out and covered in snow, this place is absolutely magical.
I decided that we'd (Jess & I) take this opportunity to incorporate more of the surroundings in the images and make them less about her and more about the place. I think it's definitely a step out of my comfort zone but really love the outcome.
Will hopefully be testing more shots like this in the future :)
